Our annual trip to BedZED for 2012 will take place on Thursday, 9th February.
BedZED is the UK’s largest zero-energy housing development project and is located in Sutton in the south of London. The project wants to ensure a high quality of life, but at the same time only to use a sustainable amount of resources, i.e. by only using renewable energy sources generated on site and discouraging the use of cars. For more information, have a look at the project’s website.
We will meet on Thursday, 9th February, at 12.15 pm at LSE campus in central London. From LSE to BedZED, we will use public transportation and this journey takes about 1 hour. It is definitely a worthwhile experience! We will visit the museum on the project site together and may be able to talk to BedZED residents as well. Afterwards there is the opportunity for an oikos social where we can share and discuss our impressions of the day with drinks.
The trip is a good opportunity to learn about an innovative and sustainable project right at your door step and to meet new people who are interested in sustainable development. Your entire travel expenditures as well as the ticket for the museum will be paid for by our oikos chapter!
Please sign up to the oikos BedZED trip by sending a quick e-mail to us until Monday, 7 February 2012!
