This week will see our first event of the year - we are going to City Hall on Thursday, Dec 1 (18:30) to attend a meeting with Rob Hopkins, co-founder of the Transition movement.
Rob will present his new book, The Transition Companion, and meet with Transition groups in London. Here are the details about the event.
I have reserved some tickets (4 GBP for students), so if you want to come, let me know now! I have a lecture until 6 on Thursday, so we can meet at LSE and go there together.
If you haven't heard of the Transition Network, you should check out their website - their key idea is that the best way to prepare for peak oil and climate change is to change people’s minds on a local level. "Transition Towns" are towns where groups of citizens are running initiatives like community supported agriculture, shared transport or local currencies.
This should be a great opportunity to learn about the existing initiatives in London, and to network with the transition folks.
