Annual Trip to BedZed

Oikos London is having its annual trip to Beddington Zero Energy Development (BedZED) which will take place in January (between 16th and 20th January 2012).

BedZED is the UK’s largest zero-energy housing development project and is located in Sutton in the south of London. The project is designed to ensure a high quality of life, but at the same time only to use a sustainable amount of resources, i.e. by only using renewable energy sources generated on site and discouraging the use of cars. More on information on BedZED can be found on the project’s website.

Our trip will involve a visit of the museum on the project site which gives comprehensive information on the project’s ideas, goals and also its implementation.  The trip is a good opportunity not only to learn about an innovative project in your neighbourhood with big implications for the future, but also to socialise with other members from oikos London and to get to know like-minded people!
